The majority of Associated Terminals' cargo transloading activities occurs on the lower Mississippi River at twelve midstream transfer facilities located between mile markers 141 and 56 A.H.P.  These systems allow for the simultaneous two-sided discharge of deep draft ocean vessels calling on the lower Mississippi River.  

Five mid-stream facilities are situated between miles 136 and 141 A.H.P. within the jurisdiction of the Port of South Louisiana, the largest tonnage port in the western hemisphere.

Four mid-stream systems are located between mile markers 86.5 and 90.5 A.H.P. within the jurisdiction of the Port of St. Bernard just below New Orleans. Finally three additional midstream systems are located in the vacinity of Myrtle Grove between mile markers 56 and 58 A.H.P.

These midstream unloading locations are serviced by Associated's fleet of 11 high capacity barge mounted stevedoring cranes.  These midstream activites are complimented by Associated's significant dockside operations at the Port of South Louisiana / Globalplex (mile 138.5) and the Port of St. Bernard (mile 90.5) where Associated serves as the exclusive operator.
