Two more pressure vessels, weighing approximately 200,000 pounds each and measuring 60 feet in length by 24 feet high, were unloaded at Associated’s barge terminal in May utilizing the facilities Roll On/Roll Off capabilities. These pressure vessels arrived loaded on 104-wheel hydraulic trailers sitting on a deck barge. The two pressure vessels, which were manufactured in Japan, were shipped to Houston and then barged to Baton Rouge, where they are destined for area plants.

This is just one of the many capabilities which this facility offers and we expect more of this type of activity in the future as we continue to market this facility. Other products handled at our barge terminal this year include rolls of paper, liquids, steel pipe, petroleum coke and grain.
