At Associated Terminals, we are all about celebrating our team members as well as their successes. That said we would like to highlight the grand milestone of Carey Boudreaux’s 20-year work anniversary with Associated Terminals.

Carey recalls wanting to be just like his father as he grew up watching his father perform the role of a crane manager. Carey first became part of the maritime industry in 1981 at a different company where he worked with his father. Carey joined Associated in 2003 as a Production Manager. Later in his career, he became a crane manager and then later returned to his role as a Production Manager, which is his role today.

When looking back at the career he has had this far with Associated, he says “one thing I will always remember is how the company came back from Hurricane Katrina. I was with Associated back when they only had a couple cranes, and it is inspiring to have watched how much they have grown and what a leading company they have become.”

Carey said that throughout his time as part of the Associated Terminals family, there have been “way too many people to name” that have been role models in his career, as well as great supporters. What Carey has seen as the most inspirational part about a long-term career with Associated Terminals is how “their growth is a result of the fact they are never afraid to take the next step, even after all we went through during and after Katrina. They are the fearless leaders of this industry. It’s amazing, really.”

One of Carey’s closest friends, crane manager of the Talley Perez, Danny Talley, expresses his pride in Carey throughout the years. Danny and Carey had worked alongside one another in Chalmette for nine years together. “It has been great for Carey and me to have moved up in our careers together through the years,” he said.

“Carey is the epitome of Associated’s slogan: the ability and attitude to accomplish anything. I honestly believe so because his growth has been phenomenal, says Danny. “He is very goal oriented; nobody can match his skill level—I see him as the ultimate professional.”

In his personal life, Carey is all about the LSU Tigers, just as his whole family is. Carey was born and raised in New Orleans and continues to raise his family here today. He has two daughters and two sons, who he is extremely proud of. His oldest daughter has just graduated from LSU with a degree in broadcast journalism, while his two sons are currently at LSU studying for their undergraduate degree in engineering. His youngest daughter has just graduated high school from the Ursuline Academy and will make her way to LSU in the fall.

When asked what he looks forward to as he continues his career, Carey said, “while I have no plans to retire yet, I know I will be with Associated Terminals until the time comes.” Besides that, Carey looks forwards to seeing all his children graduate, and perhaps becoming a grandfather one day. Overall, when reflecting on his experience with Associated Terminals, Carey says “this career has been very good to me. I appreciate all the company has done for me and I will be forever grateful for my career here.”

We are so lucky to have Carey as a part of our team for the past 20 years. Join us in congratulating Carey Boudreaux on this exceptional accomplishment!
